Art is Life

img1

I am an artist and educator.
I teach Art and English. Just like English, Art is a language we use to communicate beyond words. I have taught pre K through university levels. My husband’s career in the NPS has brought us around the USA National Parks and my paintings reflect those unspoiled landscapes in which we lived. Painting experiences I have with an environment or social setting and relationships with my environments. I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota- attended Minneapolis College with a park between to The Walker and Sculpture Gardens as my early inspiration of great art. I began my first teaching jobs there in south Minneapolis. Then I attended art school and art education at the University of New Mexico where I became in love with nature. camp and hike and paint repeat. Later I moved to northern Minnesota. Next to Petrified Forest and was inspired by the landscape and Navajo and Hopi cultures. I attended Northern Arizona University for a Masters degree in Multicultural Education and a dual Wilderness Outdoor Leadership certification. I am dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion through Art, Nature and English language.
